A project to resurface 16 miles of Interstate 70 in from Hays to the Russell County line is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 25, weather permitting.
The project will consist of a 2-inch mill and a 1.5-inch overlay.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone causing minimal delays. The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the construction zone.
KDOT awarded the construction contracts – totaling $3.8 million – to Venture Corp. The project should be completed by late September, weather permitting.
