Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and 32 other U.S. senators have sent a letter to the  administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Gina McCarthyurging the withdrawal of proposed water regulations which would redefine “navigable waters.”

“If not withdrawn, the guidance could lead the EPA to redefine when isolated wetlands, intermittent streams, and other non-navigable waters should be subject to regulation,” said Moran.

Clean-Water-Act-EPA-Army-CorpsThe EPA wants to expand the definition under the Clean Water Act.  Their attempt would mean any water that affects any navigable waters.  That’s every drop of rain,” he added.

“The actions by EPA and the Army Corps could potentially result in the federal government requiring discharge permits on private farm lands and ranch lands.

“That’s another federal overreach,” according to Moran:

Moran was in Hays last week and visited with listeners on KAYS Radio.
