TOPEKA- A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle just after 4 p.m. on Saturday in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Suburban driven by Charles E. Copeland, 77, Auburn, was traveling on U.S. 24 and struck Stephen Kelly Kemp, 42, Cape Coral, Florida.

Kemp was in the middle of the roadway picking up a lost load.

Kemp was transported to Stormont Vail. Copeland was not injured.
