SALINA — A Salina man was arrested early Sunday morning on requested charges of felony fleeing and eluding, aggravated endangerment of a child, reckless driving, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and habitual violator following a brief chase.

Capt. Mike Sweeney said an officer recognized 25-year-old Christopher Crotzer driving a 1999 Infiniti as being wanted on a outstanding warrant.

The officer tried to pull the car over around 1:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Crawford, but Crotzer allegedly sped up and led the officer on a chase over several residential streets before going into the field north of the Central Mall off of Wayne Avenue.

The chase which reached speeds of 60 mph ended when the car went into a drainage culvert. Neither Crotzer nor a 17-year-old Salina girl were injured.
