TOPEKA – Gov. Sam Brownback on Thursday announced recent appointments to boards and commissions.
“I’d like to thank these men and women for sharing their time and talents to serve the people of our great state,” Brownback said.
Among the appointments was Thomas Pitner, Hays, who was reappointed to serve a three-year term on the Kansas State Banking Board. Pitner serves as director and loan committee member at Bank of Hays.
The KBB aims to promote financial stability, safe banking practices, competitiveness and consumer safety through its duties as a state-chartered banking industry. The board comprises nine members, all of whom are appointed by the governor to no more than two, three-year terms. The board has responsibility for the approval of new charters and branches as well as other activities, and the Kansas Senate confirms the governor’s appointments to the board.
