TOPEKA- A Kansas man was injured in an accident just before 4 p.m. on Thursday in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by Tyson J. Houpt, 33, Topeka, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Auburn Road.

The Toyota was in the driving lane and rear-ended a 2001 Freightliner semi driven by Slade Barnett, 50, Northglenn, Colorado.

Houpt was transported to Stormont Vail.  Barnett was not injured.

The KHP reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
