5th Annual Wines & Steins Fundraiser offering “something new” this year

For the fifth year in a row, community members will have the opportunity to stroll through participating businesses in Downtown Hays sampling wines and microbrews, and enjoying the unique and eclectic atmosphere of the Historic Chestnut Street District.

The Downtown Hays Development Corporation will play host to the 5th Annual Wines & Steins on Friday, September 12th. Reservations are now available!Committee Chair, Alaina Cunningham shared, “This event allows the community to come together and see what Downtown has to offer.”

Participating downtown businesses will provide a sample of select wines and microbrews, as well as hors d’oeuvres for reservation holders to enjoy during the evening.

Participants will then stroll to the post-stroll celebration and auction held in the parking lot of the Emprise Bank. The post stroll gathering will feature live music,complimentary beverages and a taste of cuisine from Downtown eateries, as well as a silent and live auction!

“We are also offering something new,” stated Cunningham “Our attendees will get a “taste of Downtown” at the celebration from the participating venues that will provide samples from their menus. This allows us to show the
community a vast variety of businesses offered Downtown.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards Downtown Hays Development Corporation operations, aesthetic improvements and long-term projects. “This is a unique and exciting night in the heart ofHays,” said Traci Stanford, DHDC Executive Director “It gives reservations holders the opportunity to socialize with other Downtown supporters and to get to know the Downtown businesses on a more personal level, all while showing support for our successful organization”
