The summer is ending much as it began — wet and rainy.
Another bout of rain swept through the region Thursday night, dropping another half-inch of rain north of Ellis. The front skirted the western edge of Ellis County, which had no rainfall in the eastern portions and only 0.03 inches in Hays.
Northeast Gove County received nearly another inch of rain, with a report of 0.89 inches. A report near WaKeeney showed 0.59 inches in the gauge, and eastern Russell County also had a report of a half-inch of rain.
The skies are expected to clear until at least Sunday, according to the extended forecast.
