Temperatures will warm back into the 90s today with winds becoming southerly in the afternoon. Even warmer temperatures are expected Sunday with much of the area seeing highs in the 95 degree range.
A strong storm system will be approaching Sunday, leading to a severe weather risk across the Central Plains. Much of Kansas is in a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms. The combination of high instability and excellent wind shear will favor supercell thunderstorms.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to move east of the area overnight Sunday, with the Labor Day holiday forecast to be dry with a high around 85.
