There is a slight risk of severe storms late this afternoon into the evening hours ahead of a strong upper level storm system. Storms are expected to initiate along the dryline any time after 4pm. The greatest severe storm threats will be damaging hail and damaging straight line winds to 70 mph.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce frequent lightning. Low around 64. South wind 6 to 11 mph becoming northeast in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
