Meeting planned to discuss U.S. 36 highway project

NORTON — The Kansas Department of Transportation will have a public meeting will be held to discuss the reconstruction of U.S. 36 from Brown Street east to U.S. 283.  The city of Norton applied for and was selected to receive Geometric Improvement funding for this project.

Roads selected for Geometric Improvement funding are part of the state highway system located within the city limits and these projects are designed to address road deficiencies.  This project is currently scheduled for 2015.

The public meeting will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at Norton Public Library, 408 N. Norton Ave.

Discussion of the project will take place and the public is encouraged to provide feedback and share their concerns.
