Three without seat belts hospitalized after car goes airborne in NW Kan.

KHP  Kansas Highway PatrolBIRD CITY — Three people were injured in an accident just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Cheyenne County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer driven by Jacob W. Davis, 20, was northbound on Kansas 27 eleven miles south of the U.S. 33 junction.

The driver was inattentively driving, crossed into southbound traffic and into the west ditch, overcorrected back into northbound lane, overcorrected again traveling back across the southbound lane into the ditch, crossed a field, became airborne and came to rest in a ravine.

Davis and passengers Anamarie M. Crespin,18, Bird City,  and Julia Davis, 16, Wichita, were transported to Cheyenne County Hospital.

The KHP reported they were not wearing seat belts.
