OAKLEY- A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 7 p.m. on Thursday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Toyota Corolla driven by Derek L. Becker, 29, Oakley, was westbound on Interstate 70 three miles east of Oakley.

The driver swerved to avoid a deer and ran off the road to the right into the north ditch.

The vehicle over turned an unknown amount of times and crossed a fence.

Becker was transported to Logan County Hospital. He was treated for minor injuries and released.

The KHP reported he was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
