NEW YORK (AP) – Billy Idol had an out-of-body experience when he was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1990.

Idol says he went into “a red dimension of love” where there were humans who had passed on who spoke in his mind that they loved him.

Idol says he doesn’t know how long he was there, but he adds, “The next minute I was back on the pavement, in agony.”

He nearly lost his leg in the accident.

Idol writes about that experience in his new autobiography, “Dancing With Myself.”

He also has a new album called “Kings and Queens of the Underground.”
