Police make arrest in September shooting

JUNCTION CITY- The Junction City Police Department is reporting the arrest of Jerome Amiri Glaspie, 43, Junction City, on suspicion of Attempted Murder and Attempted Aggravated Robbery.

Lieutenant Jeff Childs said Glaspie was arrested in connection with a shooting on Sept. 22.

Police said the victim reported that he had been shot during a disturbance in the parking lot of the Budget Host Motel at 820 South Washington. The suspect fled the scene.

Childs said the victim was Angel Gonzalez-Cintron of Junction City. He suffered a minor gunshot wound to his neck area and declined medical treatment.

Glaspie was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants involving allegations of Failure to Appear for Court, and was then arrested on the probable cause Attempted Murder and Attempted Aggravated Robbery counts.

Glaspie is expected to have a first appearance in Geary County District Court Tuesday.
