Garth Brooks sent a message out to fans Tuesday explaining why he canceled some previously scheduled media appearances including NBC-TV’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and syndicated show Live With Kelly & Michael. “We landed in NY last night to the news of the civil unrest that was going on in our nation,” said Brooks, presumably referencing reaction to the grand jury verdict not to indict Ferguson, MO police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. “To spend the day promoting our stuff like nothing was wrong, seemed distasteful to me. I will gladly reschedule any or all appearances the networks will allow,” added Brooks, signing off with “Love one another…g”
