WICHITA- Two people were injured in an accident just after 11:30 a.m. on Sunday in Sedgwick County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1995 Honda passenger car driven by Erik Del Refugio Martinez Solis, 19, Denver, CO., was northbound on the on-ramp for West Street to Interstate 235 northbound in Wichita.
The Honda failed to yield to a 2007 Toyota passenger vehicle driven by Judith A. Metzger, 72, Wichita, that was northbound on Interstate 235. The Honda struck the Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota over corrected into the left lane.
A 2007 Lincoln passenger car driven by Dan K. Carson, 72, Topeka made a move to the left to avoid the Toyota and went onto the left shoulder. The Lincoln’s driver over corrected, causing the vehicle to cross both lanes of traffic and roll.
Carson and a passenger Susan Carson, 72, Topeka, were transported to St. Francis Hospital. No other injuries were reported. The KHP said all were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
