The mercury touched record-setting levels on Saturday, with the Hays area tying the hottest on record.
According to the K-State Ag Research Center, the thermometer hit 78 degrees on Saturday, tying the record set in 1995.
In contrast, the record low was 2 degrees, set in 1919 and 1952.
Saturday saw a wild swing in temperature with the overnight low dipping 57 degrees — all the way down to 21.
A cold front sweeps in to the region Sunday, with high temperatures only expected in the 30s.
