HTK architect to discuss facility needs at USD 489 work session

The Hays USD 489 Board of Education work session is scheduled in the library of Roosevelt Elementary, 2000 MacArthur, following a 30-minute tour of the school beginning at 6 p.m. Monday.

Zack Snethen, a representative from HTK architects, will be on hand to discuss specific facilities needs regarding the district’s elementary schools, as well as Rockwell Administration Center and Westside Alternative School.

Snethen will also discuss the building needs of Early Childhood Connections currently located at two locations, 2300 E. 13th and 320 W. 13th.

Hays High School Principal Marty Straub is also on the agenda to discuss curriculum guideline changes scheduled for HHS next year.

Additionally, the board is scheduled to discuss revising administration contracts and the possible sale of district land.

The board will also discuss audit results from the financial firm Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball to be presented at the Dec. 15 board meeting.
