PLAINVILLE- An Osborne County teenager died in an accident just after 9 p.m. on Friday in Rooks County

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Keller Anthony Krug, 17, Waldo was southbound on U.S. 183 two miles south of Plainville. The driver lost control on the ice. The vehicle slid across the highway and struck a northbound Freightliner semi driven by Wayne Douglas Ulrich, 62, Russell.

A passenger in the Ford Elijah James Holmes, 18, Natoma, was ejected.

Ulrich, Krug, and Holmes were transported to Rooks County Health Center. Holmes was pronounced dead at 11 p.m.

The KHP reported Krug and Holmes were not wearing seat belts.
