Windy conditions and bitter cold is making for a wintry Tuesday morning commute.
Early reports from the Hays area showed just 0.15 inches of snow accumulation overnight, although there was a report from Ellis of 1.5 inches of powdery snow. An early report from Gove County recorded 0.21 inches.
The official report from the K-State Ag Research Center was 1 inch of snowfall, bringing the total snowfall for December to 1.7 inches.

Snow is expected to continue today, with a 50 percent chance of continued flurries before 3 p.m.
The deep freeze, however, is expected to last through Wednesday. Today’s wind chill factors are expected to be dangerously low — down to 17 below zero.
