Wendelin F. ‘Wendy’ Stang

Victoria, Kansas – Wendelin F. “Wendy” Stang, age 69, died Monday, January 5, 2015, at Via Christi Village Hays, Kansas.

He was born February 13, 1945, in Hays, Kansas to Wendelin J. and Leona (Schamber) Stang.

He was a retired US Air Force Staff Sergeant with a total of 25 years. Then he worked twelve years in Topeka at Forbes Field.  He was a 1963 graduate of Victoria High School and worked for the Salina Police Department for four years.  He moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 2002 and moved back to Ellis county in 2010.

Survivors include one son, Jason Stang and wife, Shelley, Folsom, CA; two sisters, Dellia Brungardt, Victoria, KS; Marilyn Braun and husband, Sam, Victoria, KS; two grandsons, Nicholas and Anthony Stang; two sisters-in-law, Elvis Stang-Williams, Red Oak, TX; and Judith Stang, Cottage Grover, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernie and Elden Stang; one sister, Velma VonFeldt; two brothers-in-law, Roy VonFeldt and Edward D. Brungardt.

Services are 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Fidelis Victoria, Kansas.

Burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery Victoria, Kansas with military honors by the Victoria V.F.W. Post No. 1751.

Visitation is from 10:00 to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Basilica of St. Fidelis.  Memorial to St. Fidelis Cemetery Fund or Victoria V.F.W. Post No. 1751.
