Betty Louise Woodroof

Betty Louise Woodroof, age 90, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas.

Betty was born August 26, 1924 at Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Everett Leroy & Edna Anne Crago Clayton. Betty was home schooled by her mother, who was a teacher, until third grade when entered public school. She graduated from Parsons High School in Parsons, Kansas and continued her education earning a Bachelor Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University in 1960. During World War Two, she worked at the Kansas Army Ordinance plant in Parsons. She also worked a few years as a Para-professional in the Parsons school system. A homemaker, she had been a Leoti, Kansas resident since moving from Denison, Texas in 2013.

Betty was a member of the Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison, Texas and was a member of United Methodist Women. Betty taught Sunday School and volunteered at church and in community on a regular basis. She taught the Gospel faithfully and served with a gentle conviction. Betty was a Beauchant in the Masonic Lodge in Denison, Texas

On November 14, 1945 she married Morris Dean Woodroof at Parsons, Kansas.

Twelve Grandchildren

Jeff Neaves, Doug Neaves & Matthew Neaves, Dixie Willard, Lewis Tyler, Micah Tyler, Alyssa Burton, James Burton, Clayton Winter, Weston Winter, Katelyn Lee & David Gough.

Eleven Great Grandchildren

Her parents and two sisters precede her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Brad Kirk officiating.

Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas.

Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to Wichita County Long Term Care in care of the funeral home.
