After being named the MIAA Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday (Jan. 6), junior Noah Killip was named the National Wrestler of the Week by D2Wrestle.com on Thursday (Jan. 8).

At 141 pounds, Killip picked up a 9-5 decision over No. 2 ranked Kyle Webb in No. 19 Fort Hays State’s dual with No. 10 Lindenwood on Saturday, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead in the first match of the day.

Two first period takedowns gave Killip an early advantage, and after a battle through the second period, the two wrestlers headed to the third in a 4-4 tie.

In the third, Killip notched a reversal early in the period to move his riding time over a minute.

Though Webb escaped inside a minute to go, a late takedown from Killip sealed the match for the Tigers.

Currently unranked, Killip is now 14-2 on the year.
