ABILENE – Law enforcement authorities in Dickinson County on Tuesday arrested a suspect in connection with the distribution of methamphetamine.
Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman said officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 Block of NW 3rd in Abilene and arrested Joshua Shultz, 32, on multiple counts including drug possession, distribution, unlawful use of a telecommunications device and acquiring drug proceeds.
Hoffman said the search warrant was executed one day after a controlled purchase of methamphetamine was allegedly conducted from Schultz at the apartment residence.
At the time the search warrant was executed a search of the residence and adjacent shop resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia, bags with methamphetamine residue, digital scales and a small amount of marijuana.
Money used in the alleged controlled buy of the meth was also recovered during the search.
Hoffman said the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are possible.
