KFIX Rock News: Led Zeppelin’s “Physical Graffiti” To Be Reissued Next Month To Mark Album’s 40th Anniversary

The third installment of the Led Zeppelin reissue campaign that launched last year will feature remastered and expanded versions of the band’s sixth studio album, the 1975 two-LP set Physical Graffiti, which will arrive next month.

The revamped album will hit stores February 24, which coincides with the 40th anniversary of Physical Graffiti‘s original release.

As with Led Zeppelin’s previous five reissues, Physical Graffiti will be available in multiple configurations and formats.

These include a standard two-CD set; a deluxe three-CD edition boasting a “companion audio” disc; vinyl versions of those two packages; and a Super Deluxe Boxed Set containing the double album and the companion audio on both CD and vinyl, plus a 96-page book of rare and unseen photos and memorabilia, a high-def digital download of the music, and a print of the album’s cover.

The companion audio disc features seven tracks, including an orchestral rough mix of “Kashmir” titled “Driving Through Kashmir”; an early mix of “Trampled Under Foot” titled “Brandy & Coke”; and an early version of “In the Light,” dubbed “Everybody Makes It Through.”

Physical Graffiti topped the Billboard 200 and yielded one top 40 hit, “Trampled Under Foot,” which reached #38 on the Hot 100 chart.

The album has been certified 16-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, meaning — as a double album — that it has sold more than eight million copies in the U.S.
