Late rally lifts Lady Tigers to 13th straight win

The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers overcome a poor shooting game to run their win streak to 13 games, holding off Lincoln 61-53 Saturday afternoon at Jason Gym in Jefferson City, Missouri. After trailing by as many as four in the second half, the Lady Tigers used a 14-3 run to push the lead to nine with just under three minutes to play.

FHSU improves to 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the MIAA where they take over first place following No. 1 Emporia State’s one-point loss at Central Missouri. Lincoln drops to 6-6 and 1-6 in the conference.

FHSU shoots just 33-percent and were just 2-for-20 from beyond the arc. Lincoln shoots just 29-percent but connected on 8-of-24 from 3-point range.

 

Game  Highlights

 

Keriann Shaw and Kate Lehman both record double-doubles. Shaw scores a career-high 14 while grabbing 13 boards. Lehman adds 11 with 13 rebounds and four blocked shots. Chelsea Mason ad Paige Lunsford both add nine.

The Lady Tigers return home Thursday to play Central Oklahoma at 5:30pm.
