2 from Kansas hospitalized after semi accident in Missouri

Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 8.39.21 PMCHILLICOTHE, Mo. – A man and woman from Salina were injured in an accident just after 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Livingston County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Toyota passenger vehicle driven by Gary G. Dunlap, 72, Salina, was east bound on U.S. 36 six miles east of Chillicothe. The vehicle was passing a semi. The semi changed lanes and struck the side of the Toyota. The Toyota traveled off the north side of the highway, crossed the median and struck a guardrail.

A State trooper transported Dunlap and a passenger Rita M. Dunlap, 69, Salina, to Hedrick Medical Center.

The semi driver was not injured.

The MSHP reported they were both properly restrained at the time of the accident.
