casa valentine s eveningCASA of the High Plains

CASA of the High Plains will host its fifth annual Valentine’s Evening Saturday, February 14, at the Rose Garden Banquet Hall, 2350 E. 8th.

This fun and memorable evening of giving includes dinner, music by the Flat Land Band with a live auction and a silent auction.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour and silent auction. Dinner, catered by Rose Garden Steak Haus & Catering, LLC, will be served at 7 p.m. The live auction starts at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $30 each or $210 for a table of eight people. Tickets are available for purchase at Commerce Bank, 2200 Vine; Eagle Communications Customer Care Center, 1902 Vine; or by calling the CASA office at (785)-628-8641.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence—the one adult who cares only for them.

CASA of the High Plans serves the 23rd Judicial District which includes Ellis, Trego, Gove and Rooks counties. Hays resident Janette Meis is the CASA state director.
