HUTCHINSON – Officials from the State Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a building in Hutchison on Friday night.

Fire crews responded to the two-alarm blaze at the Midwest Sewing and Vacuum and Nelson Heating and Air Conditioning building in the 200 Block of East 5th Street just after 9:30 p.m.

Officials say several explosions were heard and when they arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames.

The building is considered a total loss according to authorities.

There were no injuries.
