Fort Hays State scored 18 unanswered points over a nine minute stretch of the first half, building a 17-point lead and go on to defeat Northeastern State 71-41 Saturday afternoon at Gross Coliseum. It’s the Lady Tigers 15th straight win, the second longest in program history, and improves them to 16-1 overall and 9-0 in the MIAA. Northeastern State drops their third straight and is now 8-8 and 4-5 in the MIAA.

Northeastern State put together a 8-0 run to pull within 14 early in the second half but a 17-2 Lady Tiger run put the game away.
Kate Lehman and Chelsea Mason both score 18 to lead Fort Hays State. Lehman also grabs 10 rebounds for her fifth-straight double-double and 48th in her career.
FHSU shoots just 38-percent for the game and were just 4-of-17 from beyond the arc but hit 15-of-19 free throws and outrebounds the RiverHawks by 18. NSU connected on just 28-percent from the floor.
FHSU closes out their non-conference schedule Thursday at home against South Dakota Mines.
