EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Darius Carter and Ron Baker scored 18 points apiece to lead No. 13 Wichita State to a 61-41 victory over Evansville on Saturday in front of 7,015 at the Ford Center.
The Shockers (16-2, 6-0 Missouri Valley) held the Aces to their season-low point total and a season-low 30 percent from the field.
D.J. Balentine scored 16 points to lead Evansville (13-5, 3-3).
Wichita State held the Aces scoreless for a nine-minute stretch in the first half, helping the Shockers take a 28-18 halftime lead.
The season-high Ford Center crowd did little to rattle the battle-tested Shockers, who have qualified for three consecutive NCAA Tournaments, including a run to the 2013 Final Four.
