RUSSELL – A man from Russell was injured in an accident just before 8 a.m. in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Cadillac passenger vehicle driven by Douglas E. Rutherford, 67,  was south bound on U.S. 281 two miles south of Russell.

The vehicle went left of center and struck a semi.

Rutherford was transported to Russell Regional Medical Center.

The semi driver Charles Douglas Braun, 55, Casper, WY., was not injured.

The KHP reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
