The Hays Police Department’s Special Situation Response Team will conduct training between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East 11th in Hays. The training will primarily be held inside of the vacant building located at 1012 Main.

Police officers will be training with special tactical equipment. This training is being done with great care and safety.

As patrons to local businesses in the area, you may see law enforcement officers move through your area. There is no need to be alarmed. The officers are merely conducting a realistic training exercise and there is no danger to the community.
