Hays, Kansas – Theresa A. Brungardt, age 82, former Walker, Kansas resident died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital Wichita, Kansas.
She was born October 21,1932, in Victoria, Kansas to Balthasar P. and Elizabeth (Graf) Dreiling.
She married Edwin J. Brungardt on September 10,1956 in Victoria, Kansas.
She was a homemaker and worked in her early years at Central Kansas Power Company in Hays and then worked for Myrna’s Dreiling Clothing in Victoria as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Christian Mothers both of Walker, Kansas, a member of the Victoria V.F.W. Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella. She and her husband moved to Via Christi Assisted Living in 2013. She was a1950 graduate of Victoria High School.
Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a strong person with a loving heart. She loved playing cards games, bingo, sewing, taking care of her plants and enjoyed spending time with her family on the farm. All of her family, husband, children and grandchildren were at her bedside when she passed away and went to heaven.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin J. Brungardt, Hays, KS; two sons, Cletus J. Brungardt and wife (Jeri), Wichita, KS; Edwin G. “Ed” Brungardt Jr. and wife, (Luane), Fort Worth, TX; two daughters, Susan M. Groth and husband, Jim, Dodge City, KS; Jeanne R. Brungardt, Victoria, KS; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Vincent Dreiling, and wife, Ellen, Hays, KS; Francis Dreiling, Victoria, KS; one sister, Betty Schmidt and husband, Vernon, Hays, KS; two sisters-in-law, Edna Dreiling and Dolores Dreiling, both of Hays, KS; one brother-in-law, Dean Davis , Emporia, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Coleen Brungardt; three brothers, Fridolin “Fritz”, William and Robert Dreiling; three sisters, Alfreda Grabbe, Seraphina Davis and Caroline Schmidt; and one infant brother, Sylvester Dreiling.
Services are 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2015, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Walker, Kansas. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
A vigil service will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Cline’s Mortuary, 412 Main Street, Victoria, Kansas followed by a Daughters of Isabella/St. Ann’s Christian Mothers rosary and Victoria V.F.W. Auxiliary memorial service at 6:30 P.M. Thursday.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s Mortuary 412 Main Street Victoria, Kansas and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Walker, Kansas.
