The deadline for filing for a seat on the Hays City Commission was noon Tuesday.

The following have filed:

• Henry Schwaller IV
• Scott Simpson
• James Meier
• Lance Jones

The general election will be Tuesday, April 7. The two candidates who receive the most votes will receive 4-year terms, and the third highest vote getter will receive a 2-year term. They will be sworn in at the April 23 city commission meeting.
