Three arrested for alleged meth-related offenses in Ellis, Rush counties

Three people were arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine-related crimes after an ongoing joint investigation by the Ellis County Drug Enforcement Unit, Rush County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation in Great Bend.

According to Ellis County Undersheriff Bruce Hertel, Jason K. Meis, 40, Catharine, was taken into custody January 21 at approximately 11 a.m. at the intersection of 240th Ave. and Feedlot Rd. for the alleged distribution of methamphetamine.

Further investigation the same day led to a search warrant at a residence located in northern Rush County in which Thomas M. Legleiter, 39, was charged with the alleged possession and distribution of methamphetamine.

Hertel said officers obtained approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and $3600 dollars of cash at Legleiter’s residence.

Also arrested January 21  was Jennifer J. Armbruster, 39, Catharine, who is facing charges of distribution of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school, no tax stamp and use of “telephonic device for a drug transaction.”

The investigation remains open.
