The USD 489 Foundation for Educational Excellence has received a grant from the Dane Hansen Foundation for $5,000 to assist families with after-school care, a service provided within Hays USD 489 elementary schools.

Any student, whether they are currently attending a program or wish to begin after-school care, is eligible for scholarships. There are no eligibility requirements or financial forms to complete. Parents who wish to apply for semester funding can contact any elementary school or the USD 489 District office at (785) 623-2400.

USD 489 programs offer homework help, activities, healthy snacks and recreation for students five days a week after school.
