Hays girls fall to Olathe South

The Hays High Lady Indians hung tough for the first four minutes in their game on Thursday versus Olathe South. The Lady Falcons though were just to much as Hays fell 76-27 in the first round of the Mid-America Classic in McPherson.

Highlights

 

Hays trailed 10-2, then scored back to back field goals to get with in three. South then used a 14-2 run to close out the first quarter leading 24-9. Hays again tried to surge cutting the lead to 11 at 25-14 and had the basketball, but never got any closer.

Hays was led in scoring by Audra Schmeidler who scored 9. South had three in double figures, led by Kala Holder with 21.

Hays falls to 3-8, Olathe South (#3-6A) is now 9-2.

Hays will play Valley Center in the consolation semifinals at 3pm Friday. The Hornets lost to Manhattan 57-47.
