Fort Hays State senior baseball player Cooper Langley has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-Central Region Team for the 2015 season.

Langley was selected to the second team as a designated hitter.

Langley will most likely see the majority of his time as the Tigers’ first baseman this year, after splitting time between designated hitter and first base last year.

He finished 2014 with a .335 batting average with a team-best 24 extra-base hits (19 doubles, 5 home runs).

He added 30 RBI and scored 26 runs. Following the 2014 season, he was named to the Daktronics and NCBWA All-Central Region Second Teams.

The baseball season is rapidly nearing as opening day is February 13, when FHSU hosts Colorado Mines at Larks Park in Hays.
