Warm front sets one more record before moving on

While not nearly as extreme as Tuesday’s record-shattering 86-degree day, another high temperature record was reached Wednesday.

The K-State Ag Research Center reported a high temperature of 72 on Wednesday, tying the Jan. 28 high set in both 1931 and 1976.

The record low was 7 below, set in 1966.

The mercury is expected to continue to dip as a cold front moves into the region, with forecasters calling for a chance of snow this weekend.
