ZZ Top will team up with modern rockers Weezer next week for the first installment of a new Jimmy Kimmel Live! segment called “Mash Up Mondays,” that will feature unlikely one-off collaborative performances by two popular music acts.

The Texas trio and Weezer will join forces to form “Wee-Z Top” — a name coined by host Jimmy Kimmel — on this Monday’s episode of the late night show, which airs on ABC at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT.

The showcase, which will take place each Monday in February — also will feature funk great Morris Day performing with pop-rock sister act HAIM as “Morris Day and the HAIM” on February 9, and soul star Aloe Blacc collaborating with R&B group Blackstreet as “Aloe Blaccstreet” on February 16.

The artists who will perform on the February 23 edition of “Mash-Up Monday” haven’t been revealed.

Meanwhile, in case you missed it, ZZ Top visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Monday, January 26, and performed three tunes — the band’s recent song “Gotsta Get Paid” and the classics “Tush” and “La Grange.”

You can watch video of the performances online at the Jimmy Kimmel Live! official site and YouTube channel.
