
MANHATTAN -Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire on Friday evening at a home in Manhattan.
Manhattan Fire Department reported they were dispatched to the blaze in the 800 Block of Pottawatomie just after 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews found the one-story home with smoke and fire showing on the exterior wall of the residence and a nearby shed.
The fire reached a second alarm before it was contained within 30 minutes. A total of 21 firefighters responded on 7 fire apparatus.
The residence was occupied at the time of the fire and all occupants were able to exit without injury.
The single-family home received an estimated loss of $50,000 to the structure and $3,000 to contents.
