SALINA- Police in Salina are investigating an attack by a homeless man from Oregon on Saturday at a Salina restaurant.
Police Captain Chris Trocheck said Patricia McCoy met Alexander O’Brien, 19, when he applied for a job where she worked. He had been staying with McCoy and her husband.
On Saturday they took O’Brien to dinner at the Hong Kong Buffet.
O’Brien apparently became upset at the dinner seating arrangements.
He is alleged to have attempted to stab McCoy in the neck with a butter knife.
She did receive a one-inch abrasion on her neck.
Walter McCoy tackled O’Brien and police were called.
O’Brien had been in Salina since he had been kicked off a bus.
He is being held in the Saline County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery.
