The TMP-Marian softball team splits a pair of games with Ellinwood Thrusday at the TMP Field. The Eagles score four runs with two outs in the top of the seventh to win the opener 5-1 but the Monarchs respond with a 15-5 victory in game two to even their record at 7-7.

Alison Helget strikes out 12 and walks just one but takes the loss in the first game. Megan Brin drove in the only TMP run on a groundout in the second inning.

The Monarchs blew open the second game with six runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth. Four of Ellinwood’s seven errors came in those two frames.

Bailey Lacy picks up the win, striking out nine and walking five over 5 1/3 innings. Lacy was also 4-for-4 at the plate. Kelli Veach had three hits including a double and a triple and drove in five.
