Following a special meeting Monday evening, Hays USD 489 Superintendent Dean Katt said the district’s board of education will continue contract negotiations with the Kansas National Education Association-Hays on Tuesday.

The special meeting, held in executive session at Rockwell’s Administration Center, featured a discussion on district policies, according to Katt.

At last week’s contract negotiation meeting,  members from the union negotiating team requested the board provide written proposals regarding teacher salary and wages and proposed caps to sick leave and concurrent credits.

The board will continue discussion on the proposals with the KNEA Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Rockwell,  323 W. 12th.
