Forrest L. ‘Frosty’ Paul

Forrest L. “Frosty” Paul, age 82, of Hays, KS passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. He was born January 25, 1933 in Hutchinson, KS to Orville Heasty and Leota (Lemon). He graduated from Bloom High School in 1953 and earned a Master’s in education from Fort Hays State University. He married Alice A. (Davis) November 28, 1954 in Hays, KS.

He was a long time Junior High Educator, Principal and Coach. His career started in Bloom, KS to Collyer, KS, Quinter, KS and finished in Morland, KS where he started his principal duties. During his career he coached multiple sports as well. After retiring he started to drive a truck for Clear Creek of Hill City now NCRA for several years. He served as the golf course superintendent at Graham County Golf Course for a short time. Frosty volunteered as the basketball coach for the Reed Center basketball team in Graham County. He was a past school board member for USD 281, Morland. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hays and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, reading and collecting arrowheads.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of Hays; two sons, Steve Paul and wife Julie of Hays, KS and Mark Paul and wife Elaine of Concordia, KS; three daughters, Vickie Gano and husband Gary of Hays, KS, Tami Casteel and husband Dale of Cape Coral, FL and Casey Lewis and husband Steve of Hays, KS; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father, Fred Paul; five brothers, Cliff Keal, Aubrey “Bub” Keal, Everette Paul, Robert Heasty and Gerald Heasty; a grandson, Brent Ryan Paul and two great granddaughters, twins Camille and Tamika Sanders.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Brock’s – Keithley Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine St Hays, KS 67601. Inurnment will be in Mt. Allen Cemetery.

The family will be present to greet friends Thursday 9AM until service time at the funeral chapel.
