Fly Hays
From 8 a.m. to noon June 13, the Hays Regional Airport and the Fly Hays Committee will be hosting the fifth annual Great Planes on the Plains Fly-In.
The Fly-In is a chance for community members to get an up close look at aviation and how it impacts the community. This free event is a family friendly event and highlights the many aspects of aviation in Ellis County.
The event will showcase the importance of aviation in respect to unmanned aircraft, rotorcraft, fixed wing, air ambulance, commercial aviation, and other aspects of aviation in the community.
According to Nathan Marcucci, airport manager, the airport is such a dynamic place that there is something different happening on a daily basis. He said it is his intention to show the community his passion for aviation and how the airport can benefit everyone it serves, including those that don’t fly from Hays on a regular basis.
The Hays Regional Airport is a division of the City of Hays and has daily service to Denver International Airport, with worldwide connections via the Star Alliance. The airport is home to an aircraft paint shop, an air ambulance, an aircraft manufacturer, and a fixed base operator that provides charter services, fuel sales and flight training.
