2 hospitalized after vehicle hits the axle on a semi’s trailer

ULYSESS- Two people were injured in an accident just after 1 p.m. on Thursday in Stanton County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Mercury Sable driven by Darrel Damon, 77, Ulysses was eastbound on U.S.160 twelve miles west of Ulysses,

The vehicle crossed the centerline and crashed into the fourth axle of the trailer a semi was pulling.

Damon was transported to Wesley Medical Center.
A passenger in the Mercury Janet Damon, 74, Ulysses was transported to Stanton County Hospital.

The semi driver from Hugoton was not injured. All were properly restrained at the time of the accident according to the KHP.
