NOWATA, OK – (AP) Authorities say the third of three suspects in the shooting of an Oklahoma police officer has been arrested in southeast Kansas.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office says Alejandro Garcia was captured Friday near Liberty, Kansas.
The search for Garcia began Thursday evening when he fled after crashing a car that officials say he stole near the Kansas border.
The sheriff’s office brief news release provided no other details of Garcia’s capture.
Authorities say Garcia and two others shot an Oologah police officer during a Thursday night chase that began in Rogers County, Oklahoma. The officer’s condition was not immediately available Friday.
Police arrested the two other suspects — 23-year-old Cesar Rios and 20-year-old Roxanna Mendoza — Thursday night in South Coffeyville, just south of the Kansas border.

South Coffeyville Police Chief Wade Lamb tells the Tulsa World that when an officer tried to pull over an SUV Thursday, the vehicle took off.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says shots were fired from the SUV at an Oologah police cruiser that was assisting in the chase, striking the officer, who was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital. His condition wasn’t released.
Authorities say two of the vehicle’s occupants were taken into custody after police used stop sticks.
Lamb says a third escaped, carjacked another car and shot the driver. Lamb says the suspect made it to Liberty, Kansas, before crashing and fleeing on foot.
The search began late Thursday.
